IPL Hair Removal

IPL is becoming one of the most popular methods in permanent hair removal. The light pulse technology aims to permanently remove all hair from the treated site to give you everlasting hair-free skin.

Glow Beauty Centre has trained staff in the use of IPL and the treatment has been used by women and men to get rid of unwanted hair.

What is IPL Hair Removal?

IPL or Intense Pulsed Light uses pulses of light to focus on the roots of your hair and permanently remove unwelcome hair.

What makes IPL different to laser technology is that IPL works on multiple wavelengths whilst laser only emits one specific wavelength. Laser hair removal can cause some discomfort during treatment because of the focused heat so IPL provides a milder technique whilst still attaining the best results.

IPL hair removal is becoming more popular compared to shaving and waxing as the light treatment focuses to permanently leave your skin hair free.

How does IPL work?

As IPL is still a relatively new form of hair removal, you may be wondering what IPL will be like. At the beginning of your IPL treatment with Glow Beauty Centre, any excess hair will be trimmed for better and focused application of the IPL machine.

A special IPL handset is used to perform the treatment. The machine emits powerful and controlled bursts of light so when the machine touches your skin it may feel quite warm. The light pulses heat up the root of the hairs so the individual hair strands fall out. With each treatment, the hairs will be lighter and thinner.

We usually recommend a treatment plan of six sessions but during our first consultation we will tailor a personal treatment plan suited to you.
